Reset your password
Set a new password when you cannot sign in, and what to do if the email does not arrive.
If you have forgotten your password, you can set a new one yourself from the sign-in page. Nobody at Guidal can read your existing password or choose a new one for you, so this is the way back in.
Set a new password
- On the sign-in page, choose Forgot password?.
- Enter the email address you sign in with, and submit the form.
- Open the email that arrives and follow the link in it.
- Enter your new password twice, and confirm.
If you follow the link in the same browser you started in, you usually come straight back to the console, already signed in with the new password.
Not every return trip works. Opening the link somewhere else — on your phone, say, after starting on a laptop — will not sign you in, and a link followed late can end on an error page even in the browser you started in. In both cases the new password is still set: go to the sign-in page and sign in with it.
The link is good for 10 minutes
A reset link expires ten minutes after you ask for it, and an expired one cannot be revived. Start again from Forgot password? and use the newer email — you can ask as many times as you need.
Because the window is short, ask for the link when you are ready to use it. If you request one on a work laptop and read your mail an hour later on a phone, it will have expired.
If the email does not arrive
A confirmation does not mean the address has an account
"You should receive an email shortly" is shown whether or not the address you typed belongs to an account — we deliberately do not reveal which addresses are registered. So when nothing arrives, check the address you typed as carefully as you check your spam folder. A typo, or a different address from the one you signed up with, produces exactly that same confirmation page.
In order:
Re-read the address you entered. Then try again with it typed carefully.
Check spam and junk, along with any rule or filter that files mail away automatically.
Try your other addresses. If you may have signed up with a personal address rather than a work one, or the other way round, ask for a reset on each.
Ask an owner or admin in your organization whether your address is the one on your membership. They can see the addresses on every membership.
If you see an error saying the email could not be sent, that one is about us rather than about your address: mail delivery is failing. Wait a few minutes and try again, and tell us if it keeps happening.
Still locked out
Email support@guidal.ai with the address you are trying to sign in with and roughly when you last tried. Send it from another address if the one you are recovering is the one you cannot read.
